A BEACH DAY
Monday, June 30, 2008
Today was definitely a beach day. It was sunny, but with a slight breeze blowing. Absolutely perfect weather. The kids had so much fun and surprisingly Jay and I didn't have to chase after the little ones very much, they were more than content to walk through the shallow water or play on the sand. I'd been a little scared to take them to the beach without Randy but with Jay's help it was a breeze.
Flynn's little footprint above and below the marks left after he was grabbed handfuls of sand to throw in the water.

Sometime you will have to try taking plaster of paris to the beach with you and pouring it into their handprints. The sand absorbs into the plaster and makes the sweetest mold. You can frame them to keep forever.

Looks like the kids had a great time! I am so glad Jay is such a big help!

What a beautiful day! Love those wagons - my parents bought one for their place so we don't always have to haul our stroller along. Never seen the VERY COOL trailer hitched on the back though - handy!

Jay seems like such a great kid. He really helps you out a lot!

That's great that you guys don't have to chase them around as much as before. They are getting older and it gets easyer as they get older .Our little lady Maria was a handful anywhere, As she's getting older I enjoy taking her places now. I was chasing her here and there- thats not always fun !lol

Aw, we're beach-bound this weekend and you just got me all excited. Although good lord woman, was that like an entire giant ride-on train or something you brought with you to the beach? Do they make them in adult sizes?

I LOVE beach days!!! In fact we are going on vacation for the 4th of July weekend to the beach! Ok so I have a couple of questions for ya.
Do you use LiveWriter for your blogs? If so how in the heck do you get your pictures to have such nice layouts and a big size? Also I notice that your columns are wider than mine turned out? And I promise this is the last question how did you get that big section at the top with that cartoon picture? I have seen it on other blogs also. Hope your having a great day!

Yes I do use Live Writer for most of my blog posts. When you upload the pics you can just drag the pics to any size you want. As for the columns I had Mission Field Designs make them this size for me. I wanted my middle column a little wider than normal so I could fit side by side portrait pics. I did the picture at the top using Scrapblog. It's super easy. In my tips and tricks label I have a quick tutorial on how to add it to your blog header.

Looks like you had a fun day :) Love that trailer for the wagon, that is so neat. You'll have to let me know which beach you went to, that looks like a nice one, not too crowded!

hi tonya! dropping by from themomblogs... i love the prints in the sand. and i also like the idea of having them molded with plaster of paris. it would definitely make a good remembrance of their childhood days. take care!

How sweet are those hand prints? Keaton loved trying to pick up big handfuls of sand too. Something with those boys I guess. Oh and I am LOVING the trailer for the wagon. That rocks!

Oh how I covet your beach proximity! Good for you for capturing it (and sharing it) so marvelously!

That looks like my neck of the woods! What a perfect spot for the kids to play in the water safely!

I love your beach set up...the wagon rocks! How was it for pulling across the sand? The one I borrowed from my friend was so easy because of the huge wheels, but I haven't been able to find a used one!

love the wagon and the little hitch!!!
looks like another fun filled day for you and the kiddos!! super jealous you live by the beach.
July 2, 2008 8:14 PM
Deanna: That is an absolutely fabulous idea. I will have to remember that.
July 2, 2008 8:28 PM
Tamara: The wagon wasn't too bad on the sand. I must admit my Mountain Buggy stroller is much better on the sand than this but I was also pulling a lot of weight with both kids and a wagon full of gear LOL and the sand in that section was very soft too which didn't help, but we got on and off the sand so it couldn't have been too bad LOL

I haven't taken Tres to the beach since he was 8 months old...how awful huh?!?! You make it look so fun! I will have to get him out there one day! :)
Jay deserves an award!
