FABULOUS BUYS

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

This morning I was planning on taking the kids to the free museums. We were going to Kids City which is part of the Reuben H Fleet Science Center and the Natural History Museum. They were FREE FREE FREE today as they are the 1st Tuesday of every month. We got a late start ... yeh, yeh, I know, what's knew. Anywho we got down there at 10:30 to find every parking lot completely full. You need to understand that where we were going is the museum mecca, there is also a Spanish village and the Zoo in the same location so with a combination of school vacation and fabulous weather, I guess everybody else had the same idea we did.

Never mind, my brain and I had a quick pow wow and decided we'd head to Ikea. The next 2 days are water days so I needed to go somewhere a little different that was out of the heat, where we could shop, eat and the babies could play. I'm so soooooo glad that I chose to go here. We arrived there just before lunchtime so for the first time (after much begging from Jay every other time we've been) I caved and we ate lunch in the Ikea cafe. It was surprisingly good. I was skeptical, but I really enjoyed my meal. I had chicken and salmon pilaf with almond cake and peach cider. It was good. Really good in fact. The kids enjoyed their meals too - peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, real chicken strips and fries and chocolate milk.

When Marisol fell asleep we let Flynn out for a play in the children's section. He had so much fun climbing the stairs, going down the slide and checking things out.

Here are just a few of the fabulous purchases that I made.

I love Ikea! My husband suggests going just for the food!! I personally try not to go just for the food, but my husband acts like a kid in a candy store whenever we go. Great buys! I'll have to head there sometime this month.

What exactly are those pillow? They sure look silly, but what do they do with them?

Tonya & Debi: I think the pillows can be used for the feet or hands. The babies ADORE them. They think they are so much fun. When I put them on their feet they try to jump b/c they obviously can't walk LOL, it's too funny to watch and when I put them on their hands Miss M, puts her head on the pillow and pretends to sleep with her little hands all tucked up inside.
