AWARDS

I received 2 awards this week. Lucky me. I feel so warm and fuzzy and loved.

iloveyouthismuchaward

This one was from my (yet to meet her) friend Sonya. Can you believe we live close to each other but have never met? Me either. We are going to have to rectify this situation.

I'm passing this award onto

KJ at the Mummy Blog: KJ is one of those people who is just so sweet. She does so many wonderful things 'behind the scenes' that I wish so much I could tell you all about because she truly is such a warm, caring, loving person. Oh and the best part is, I'm FINALLY getting to meet her in person this week. I'm so excited.

Jane at The Waldrop Blog: Jane is such a wonderful, kind person. She's a great friend, an amazing mummy to her twin boys and it was around about a year ago that we met for the first time in person ... or so she mentioned today :). Oh and woman you had better display this damn award .. yes I'm talking to you, I don't see that last one I sent to you up on your blog ha ha.

Jaime at The Heiner Clan: This mommy of 4 including gorgeous twin girls enjoys life so much. She's such an inspiration, so creative ... and it doesn't hurt that her and hubby are pretty darn easy on the eye :)

Deanna at Deanna's Corner: If you haven't seen this blog yet, you must head on over there. She has so many amazing ideas. I never leave her blog without picking up something amazing from her. She's truly wonderful.

Sue at Happy Meals and Happy Hour: Seriously you will never laugh so hard as you do when you read her blog, especially when Bathtub Gangsta is off on one of his adventures. I almost pee my pants every time I stop by here.

3. Must make mistakes

4. Must learn from others

5. Must be a positive contributor to blog world

6. Must love life

7. Must love kids

Do you know how hard it is to choose only five blogs???

1. Cheryl at Twinfatuation: She definitely fits all of the characteristics for this award but more than excels at no.5. Not only does she have her own personal blog about her gorgeous twins but she's also a contributor on the very informative blog How Do You Do It? and also runs another twins website called Twinsights.

2. JK at Will Play For Food: This is one chick who is trying to make a big difference and it's not surprising. She's such a wonderful person and such a great friend, even though I haven't had the pleasure of meeting her in the flesh. She also has a personal blog Go Blog Yourself where she tells funny stories and shares photos of her gorgeous family.

3. Rachael at Little Bites of Heaven: Rachael is a mummy to triplets and a pre-teen. She's amazing. I see her popping up all over the blogging community checking in on other blogs and leaving such heartfelt comments. She's also a contributor at How Do You Do It?

4. Amy at Escape to Thought: Amy and I have recently become blogging friends. She's been taking a bit of a trip down memory lane recently and I'm really enjoying getting to know her and her family a little better.

5. Jane at Kidzarama: This crafty, mama of 2 gorgeous children is a fellow Aussie and definitely makes me smile. I first 'met' Jane on The Mom Blogs and we became blogging friends from there. Check out her blog, she's always offering wonderful advice and ideas.

A BOOK REVIEW

I finished reading Certain Girls: A Novel last week. I enjoyed the story. I had been eagerly awaiting the books release after reading the Good in Bed. I loved getting to read all about Cannie and her now much older daughter Joy and to see how Cannie had moved on after all of the ups and downs of the 1st book. I was a little disappointed though. Every other chapter is from Joy's (her daughter's) point of view. I kept forgetting this. In the back of my mind I'd get to another chapter and try to remember to switch characters but quite often the next chapter would be read on a different night and I would have forgotten, then I'd have to catch myself up with what was happening 2 chapters ago. For me this didn't make the book flow smoothly. It didn't annoy me enough to put it down and stop reading ha ha but it annoyed me just the same. I also highly recommend reading Good In Bed right before staring Certain Girls. I had read it over 6 months ago and so had forgotten a lot of the characters and was having trouble making sense out of some of the things happening. Overall though I give it 4 STARS
